Seasonal influenza, or flu, is a highly infectious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. Not to be taken lightly, seasonal flu can be mild or severe and at times even fatal in its complications, affecting hundreds of thousands of people every year. [1]
Pandemic influenza, on the other hand, is highly pathogenic influenza for which there is little or no natural immunity. A pandemic could affect millions in a rapid outbreak that could spread globally. [3]
